The Department of Automobiles and Vehicle Manufacturing was established on 01 January 2013 by integrating the Department of Automobiles (established in 1961) and the Department of Vehicle Manufacturing and Repairing (established in 1953). The two united competence fields cover the design, the operation and the manufacturing of vehicles and components. These areas are represented both in the education and in the research activities of the department.
